In Norway, we have the word “ildsjel” which roughly translates to “fiery soul” and describes those local people who have burning passions to make their dreams come true. Passionate about their tradition, these people think holistically about their culture and the natural environment they live in, and they live their own inspiring stories. These people, and their passions, make up the core of our programmes and all programmes are made around them.

As hosts to travelling visitors:
• They inspire the traveller by being truly who they are and very earth-bound.
• By communicating their beliefs and values, they offer the opportunity for the traveller to open up to new discoveries.
• They tell stories about the local environment and culture of which they are integral part.
• They allow the traveller to see things in a different way.

All changes happen because we experience something that touches us deeply. In order to feel responsible and inspired to understand, tolerate and support a local culture, and to see the world in a more holistic way, we need more depth in our experience. Our programmes, with an emphasis on the contact with the local “ildsjel,” promise to touch your soul deeply and inspire you to see the world in a different light.
